Recent News:

If this page hasn't been updated recently, it's because I'm travelling and /or busy with various projects.

Please call or email if you would like to work together and find out where I currently am.

Sample month -Summary of where I travelled in April, 2016...

April was been a non-stop month of travel -Sri Lanka (5 days -Colombo, Kalatura, Sinharaja Rainforest, Galle), London (2 days), Italy (9 days -Positano, Ravello, Sorento, Capri and Anacapri), London again (2 days), Dubai (1 day) and Seychelles (5 days -Mahe Island) -followed by the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.

Sri Lanka:

  • First night and half day -stayed at the charming, colonial D Pavilion Inn, just outside Colombo. Pool party with some fun film professionals who travel over 300 days a year (yes, jealous)!
  • Stayed in the Tangerine Beach Hotel in Kalatura. Survived being wrapped in volcanic mud and bound in cling film!
  • Sinharaja Rainforest -stayed at The Rainforest Ecolodge. Did three stunning rainforest treks -bathed in a waterfall and escaped from the main path and found a magical, hidden local village (& a very cute puppy)! That night we experienced the first rains in over three months -a torrential down-pouring so loud that everyone in the restaurant abandoned their meals to stand (under a shelter) outside and wonder at nature's force!
  • Ran round Galle in an hour (we had a six hour drive back to the airport and fitted this in on the way)! Galle seemed like the perfect place to relax so our pace was completely out of place!

Italy:

  • Positano -stayed at the romantic Hotel Marincanto. Enjoyed the bathroom's jacuzzi which was the size of a mini-pool -and had stunning views of Positano. (Perfect to warm up in after a dip in the surprisingly-freezing April sea)!
  • Capri -stayed at the stately Grand Hotel Quisisana.
  • Visited Anacapri -highly recommend the chairlift Anacapri Monte Solaro and then walking back down the mountain afterwards (leave an hour to walk back to Anacapri).
  • Ravello -stayed at the Albergo Ristorante Garden. The view was simply incredible.
  • Sorento (we passed through Sorento -it was, in my opinion, the least impressive of all the places -although 'impressive' is the perfect word to describe the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria which we visited for a drink).
  • Just typing up a few quick notes now -more coming soon!

Seychelles Press trip:

  • Stayed in the stylish Savoy (5*) on Mahe Island.
  • Press conference followed by the film premiere of the imaginative film Aldabra. (Filmed an interview with the producer, Petr Keller).
  • Filmed and photographed the dynamic and exciting Seychelles International Carnival of Victoria. This brings representatives of the world's best carnivals to participate in a three day extravaganza of costumes, dance, floats and music.
  • Interviewed the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain Saint Ange and the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Naiken.
  • Relaxed on a boat trip, snorkelled, and had lunch on a heavenly beach on Mahe island. Our guide had been fishing whilst we snorkelled and he had caught a huge red snapper which he then cooked on a fire along with other seafood. Some of the best, freshest seafood I've ever had.
  • On the island we discovered a magical, hidden lagoon -part fresh water from the mountain, part sea water (which invades the lagoon at high tide). -More information, videos and photographs coming soon!

London:

Mainly stop-over trips during which I caught up with friends and errands (e.g. the dentist). So if the 'lowlight' was my trip to the dentist, the highlight was watching Andrew Llyod Webbers' 'Sunset Boulevard' at the London Coliseum... (The London Coliseum is also a particularly gorgeous theatre so, if you are into architecture or beautiful theatres, be sure to check it out)!

Excellent performances by Glenn Close (who played Norma Desmond in her West End Debut), Michael Xavier (Joe Gillis) and Fred Johanson (Max von Mayerling). I had high expectations after particularly loving Glenn Close's calculating, understated performance in (the film) 'Dangerous Liaisons' and Fred Johanson's performance of Javier in (the musical) 'Les Miserables' but I was not disappointed! (Johanson's low voice was mesmerising and exquisite).

A large crowd waited at the stage door (for at least half an hour) for Glenn Close and Micheal Xavier... When they emerged, they were greeted with a rehearsed rendition of one of Glenn Close's/Norma Desmond's songs -'the Perfect Year'. 20 or so very tuneful men (possibly from a male choir) sang the entire song -guided by a conductor! A touching tribute and the perfect end to a perfect night!

Arabian Travel Market, Dubai:

  • Thank you for everyone who came to my stand at the 1 hour Speed Networking session for Media Professionals and Bloggers.
  • To everyone I met at ATM -it was a great four days and I enjoyed meeting you all -thank you for all your invites and I will be in touch soon. (Of course, feel free to follow up with me too)!
